The Institute is pleased to announce that President Obama has appointed Director C. Fred Bergsten as one of thirty new members of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. The Committee is created by legislation and provides advice to the Administration on trade agreements and trade policy. It is made up of members who represent all key sectors and groups of the economy.

Dr. Bergsten is joined on the Committee inter alia by CEOs Robert A. McDonald of Proctor & Gamble, Harold McGraw III of McGraw-Hill Companies, and Michael Ducker of FedEx Express; labor leaders Leo W. Gerard of the United Steelworkers International and James P. Hoffa of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters; and former Congressmen Bill Frenzel and Jim Kolbe.
